Indie 103.1 Is Off the Air!!!

Indie 103.1 will cease broadcasting over this frequency effective immediately. Because of changes in the radio industry and the way radio audiences are measured, stations in this market are being forced to play too much Britney, Puffy and alternative music that is neither new nor cutting edge. Due to these challenges, Indie 103.1 was recently faced with only one option — to play the corporate radio game. We have decided not to play that game any longer.

Well damn the only good music station that actually played new and cutting edge music for cutting edge people has caught an edge and crashed. Indie was our connection to UK rock, punk, grunge and music that gets overshadowed in the KROQ sk8tr rock emo ballads exclusively for screaming teenage girls.

I hate screaming teenage girls. In fact, if I ever start a screamo band, I'm going to call it "Screaming Teenage Girls," and if any rock bands pop up in the near future with that name I'm going to punch them in the face. I'm going to punch somebody, anybody if I am forced to listen to anymore One Republic and Blink182 from like 2001 on my drive home everyday!

Well apparently advertisers are reluctant to advertise on a station that plays a diverse intelligent mix of alternative for diverse and intelligent people because intelligent people don't buy shit. Hah, that explains why it was converted to a spanish-language station!
